Tapas Cooking Class incl. Lunch
Today's cooking event will take place at a private cooking school in Madrid. This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in learning more about Spanish culture, its rich gastronomy, and, of course, the world-famous tapas.
Tapas
Spain boasts a great variety of food, and the best way to get introduced to Spanish cuisine is by tasting tapas—small portions of different dishes. Locals typically enjoy them as appetizers, but you are welcome to order as many as you like to create a full meal.
At the venue, guests will be welcomed by a former Michelin-starred chef, who will introduce the group to Spanish cuisine. We will then begin preparing several delicious Spanish tapas—perfect recipes to try again when you’re back home!
The word "tapa" originates from an old custom of serving a slice of ham over the mouth of a wine glass to protect the wine from exposure to air while also providing a tasty appetizer. As with many aspects of Spanish traditional cooking, tapas vary by region, reflecting differences in ingredients and preparation styles. Even the names used for these small dishes can change depending on the location!
Of course, guests will have the chance to enjoy the tapas at the end of the course. Along the way, you’ll learn about the origins of various traditional dishes, useful cooking tips, and interesting facts about Spanish cuisine.

From there, we navigate the charming, winding streets, eventually arriving at San Andrés Church and the small chapel beside it, where Madrid’s patron saint is buried.
Finally, we visit the Church of San Francisco El Grande, renowned for its impressive architecture and its collection of paintings by Goya.
